A catch-all e-mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to invalid email addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date email address or has made a mistake. The negative aspect of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of spam messages, but this problem can be rectified by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also crucial to bear in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot forward incoming emails to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting

If you have a Linux shared web hosting package with our company and you’d like to enable the catch-all option for a specific mailbox that you’ve got in your web hosting account, it’ll take literally only a single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have created under any domain name hosted in the account. You can select one single email address per domain by clicking on the respective button. This will enable the feature momentarily, so all emails sent to mistyped addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button again will disable the catch-all feature. If you have enabled email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary notice and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature until you disable the forwarding or you can simply choose another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

A catch-all email address can be created with several clicks of the mouse in case you have a Linux semi-dedicated hosting package with us. The semi-dedicated account will be administered through our custom Hepsia Control Panel and you will be able to create mailboxes using any domain name hosted here. To enable the catch-all option for a specific mailbox, you will need to click the logo with the same name, which will be next to each mailbox. Disabling the feature can be done in the very same fashion and will not take more than a click either. If the catch-all functionality has already been enabled for a given domain name, you will get a notification. The same is valid if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never replace or deactivate any feature automatically.
